Poet Phillip Levine to read At Café Mezzaluna

            The monthly Writers Night series at Cafe Mezzaluna Bistro Latino and Gallery will feature multi-talented poet and performer, Phillip Levine, on Friday, February 10 at 7 p.m. An open mic for writers of poetry and short prose follows (5 minute limit). Café Mezzaluna is located at 626 Route 212 in Saugerties (one mile west of Thruway Exit 20) Dinner, featuring a wide variety of Latin and American dishes, will be served from 5:00 p.m. on.             Phillip Levine is well-known to readers and audiences in the Hudson Valley and in New York City, where he has hosted reading series and read and performed his poetry for a dozen years. Phillip juggles being dad to his delightful seven-year-old daughter Piper (who gave her first poetry recital at age 2) with his duties as poetry editor for Chronogram magazine, president of the Woodstock Poetry Society, actor, computer consultant, tutor and teacher (math, creative writing, and chess), general contractor (carpenter, plumbing, electric) and “a number of other balls and boulders.” His prose poem “Soon” appears in Firewheel Editions anthology An Introduction to the Prose Poem. Phillip hosts two ongoing reading series, “COW” Chronogram Open Word on the first Saturday of every month at 7 p.m. at the BEAhive in uptown Kingston, NY and the Woodstock Poetry Society’s monthly meeting on the second Saturday of every month at 2 p.m. at the Colony Café in Woodstock, NY.
