Local strawberries, asparagus, garlic scapes and much more can be found at the Saugerties Farmers Market this Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm at 115 Main Street.
Greens and eggs from Mangia Bene Farm in Glasco play a starring role in Joe Aiello's family Stracciadella recipe. Don't miss learning how to make this heart warming Italian soup recipe from the farmer himself, at the Chef Demo scheduled for 11 am. Escarole, chicory, Asian stir fry mix, fresh green garlic and variety of herb bunches will also be available from Mangia Bene this week.
Maynard, Davenport, and Slow Roots farms will bring their own mix of greens, cabbages, radishes, berries, and garden seedlings. Cedar Ridge offers a wide range of perrenials, selected to thrive in the Hudson Valley. You'll also find local cheeses, pastured meats, maple syrup, honey and wines.
Enjoy a taste of soup with an Italian accent, and stay to for brunch. Many new items are available from the gluten-free Bakeshop, Me Oh My Pies, Block Factory Tamales, Heather Ridge Farm, and Our Daily Bread, all to be enjoyed under the market cafe umbrellas. Bakeshop's Rae Stang will be bringing her Amazing Fresh Fruit Shaved Ice. Lemonade, iced tea and coffee are all available in the market.
Art Lab erects its tent in the market, offering a different creative experience for children every week this summer. Materials and guidance for making wooden sculptures are ready and waiting this Saturday, from 10 am to 1 pm.
