Domestic Dispute Leads to Numerous Charges

On June 8, 2012 the Ulster County Family Violence Investigation Unit, comprised of; the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriff's Office, Town of Ulster Police Department and Ulster County Child Protective Services, arrested Patrick M. Toennis, 57 years of age, of 1726 Old Kings Highway in the Town of Saugerties, New York, for numerous Misdemeanor charges stemming from a domestic incident.  Toennis was charged with Attempted Criminal Sexual Act in the third degree, Sexual Abuse in the third degree, Assault in the third degree, Menacing in the second degree (2 counts), Unlawful Imprisonment in the second degree,  Criminal Contempt in the second degree (6 counts), Criminal Obstruction of Breathing (2 counts), Stalking in the third degree, Stalking in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree. 

Patrick Toennis was arrested after an investigation into a domestic incident which took place in March of 2012. The case was referred to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office during the initial stages of the investigation. Special Victims Bureau Chief A.D.A. Katherine Van Loan, of the District Attorney’s Office, was consulted throughout this investigation.

 

Patrick Toennis was arraigned by Town of Woodstock Judge Husted and released on bail to appear in the Town of Saugerties Court at a later date.
