It is the 1st ever Wacky Ramble in Saugerties. The Wacky Ramble will take place May 6th from 1-4, Rain Date May 12th
The event will kick off at The SPAF at 12:30, the ramble will begin at 1:00 and will end at 4:00 with a Ramble After Party at The SPAF, 169 Ulster Ave.
What is a Wacky Ramble you ask?
Well, it is teams of 4-8 people - family friendly. Each team has 3 hours to accomplish over 40 various silly tasks throughout Saugerties. So tasks are assigned, at various shops and restaurants, (ie) at the Main St. Restaurant you might have to perform a song or maybe a little dance to gain points. Playing a game of Leap Frog on the Lawn of the Keirsted House. The team with the most points at the end of the Ramble is the winner. This is a “Ramble” and not a race. You can gain more points for your style and enthusiasm. Oh, and team themes and costumes are strongly encouraged.
Prizes awarded to the team with the most points, and for the best themes and costumes. The price is $50.00 a team and pre registration is encouraged as you will be informed of a few clues of what to bring to prepare for the wackiness. So prepare to have some silly, wacky fun with a group of your peeps for a great cause. So form a team and have some fun or just come on out and watch the Wackiness. Non team members can purchase Wacky coins at various locations. We will also have some referees selling coins on Main St. 10 coins for $1.00. You can give the teams a coin if you think they are doing a great job. This will help the team to gain points.
Each team will have to document their activity by taking a photo of the team performing the silly task. So please be prepared with a cell phone or a digital camera to take photos.
