Vehicle stop leads to drug charge

On August 11, 2012, the New York State Police at Catskill report the arrest of Kareem J. Butler, age 32, of Reading, PA for the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (Two Counts), a class B Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Non-Original Container, a violation of the Public Health Law.
 
Butler was arrested after a vehicle and traffic stop on Interstate 87, northbound, in the town of New Baltimore.  He was stopped for speeding and further investigation revealed that he possessed a large quantity of Oxycodone Hydrochloride pills.  
 
Mr. Butler was arraigned before town of Catskill Justice Wooten and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail.
