SAUGERTIES….Charles E. “Chuck” Auchmoedy, Sr., 63, of MyerLane died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at home after an eight month battle againstneck and throat cancer. Born April 6,1949 in Kingston he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Laura Auchmoedy. Chuck was an extremely patriotic man. A decorated US Army Veteran who proudlyserved his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the 1stCavalry Division. An avid golfer, healso enjoyed wood working and his summer trips to Lake George. Chuck’s greatest joy in life were hisgrandchildren: Trace Auchmoedy, Sabrina and Madison Whitaker. Affectionately know as “Grandpa Chuck” toTara’s two daughters, Kaleigh Shecklerand McKenna Alberts.
Chuck fought his final battle with the excellent compassionate care of his team fromthe V.A. Dr’s Lupinetti, Belgam andMehdi,Nurse Maggie, Alison Petro andTess Tierbecker. Family suggests donationsin his memory be made to the Albany VA, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, 12208. Attn.: ENT clinic or radiation department.
Survivors include his wife, Natalie, Son: Chuck, Jr. and his finacee, Tara Lucas, Daughter: Crystal and her husband Jim Whitaker all of Saugerties. 2 Brothers: Lewis of Kerhonkson and John of Lubbuck, TX. He was predeceased by 2 Brothers: Gary and Donald. His Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc. Cor. Of John & Lafayette Sts. Friends will be received Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Interment with military honors by the Saugerties American Legion Post #72 will be held in the Blue Mt. Cemetery.
