SAUGERTIES….. Raymond V. Rothe,  76, of 2 Rothe Road, died Sunday, July 1, 2012 at his home.  Born August 12, 1935 in Kingston he was the son of the late Charles and Eleanor Rothe.   A lifetime area resident, he attended St. Mary’s School and Saugerties High School.  Mr. Rothe owned and operated Ray Rothe Sales and Service where he sold and repaired Arctic Cat snowmobiles, Kawasaki motorcycles, lawn mowers and chainsaws.   He also had a sawmill that sold lumber internationally.   For several years he transported shale to the Lehigh Portland Cement Company.  Mr. Rothe loved to hunt, fish and race snowmobiles.    He qualified to race in the World Series of Snowmobiling in Wisconsin in 1971 and was a member of the Kaaterskill Snowmobile Club.
            Survivors include his wife, Selina, with whom he recently celebrated his 55th Wedding Anniversary.   One daughter: Sonja J. Rothe of Woodstock.  Three Sons:  Raymond E. and Mark Rothe of Saugerties and Carl Rothe of Poughkeepsie.  Two Brothers: Richard and Charles Rothe of Saugerties and two Sisters: Dorothy Dunn and Jeanne Murphy both of Saugerties.   Three Grandchildren: Raymond, Tyler and Nejhma Rothe and Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.   His Funeral Service was held 10:00 AM Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc.
